Monarch® 2.1

We’ve been working hard to bring many of your favorite IntelliHub® features to Monarch®, our mobile app for fleet managers. And over the past months, we released a number of exciting updates. As usual, Monarch® and all of its updates are available to Forward Thinking customers for free on Android and iOS.

What’s new?

2-Way Messaging With Drivers

Sometimes you can’t wait until you’re back at the office to handle a situation. Now, with messaging built directly into Monarch, you don’t have to. Message your drivers from anywhere to let them know about new stops, changes to their route, customers in need of immediate service, or anything else.

We know that messaging while on the go can be distracting. That’s why we added the ability to send custom canned responses with a single tap. You can store messages like, “Sorry, I’m driving. I’ll get back to you soon.” This feature is available for managers and drivers (through Field Warrior®).

And for those times you need an immediate reply, you can flag your message as urgent. The app will let your driver know that the message is high priority, so they can pull over and get back to you quickly and safely.

How to find it on Android:

Tap the chat bubble icon in the menu at the top, then select the driver that you’d like to message. To mark the message as high priority, simply tap the “!” next to the send button before sending your message.

How to find it on iOS:

Tap the chat bubble icon in the menu at the bottom, then select on a specific driver or location. To mark the message as high priority, simply tap the “!” next to the send button before sending your message.

Share Any Vehicle’s Current Location

Let your customers (or anyone) know exactly where any driver is with just a couple taps. Location updates include the address of the driver’s current location along with a link to Google Maps. And the messages are sent via SMS, email, or any messaging app installed on your device.

As a manager, you can also send your location to anyone. Say you’re running late to a jobsite, you can quickly update your crew and/or customer to let them know where you are.

How to find it on Android:

To share a driver’s current location, tap on any vehicle in the list or map view to bring up the vehicle info screen. Then tap on the address and select “send.”

To share your own location, tap the menu icon (three horizontal bars) in the top left, then tap “Send Position” and select your preferred messaging app.

How to find it in iOS:

To share a driver’s current location, tap on any vehicle in the list or map view to bring up the vehicle info screen and then tap on the “pin” icon in the bottom right corner.

To share your own location, tap the menu icon (three horizontal bars), then tap “Send my location” and select your preferred messaging app.

Manage Locations and Geofences

You can now fully manage (add, edit, and view) your saved locations and geofences from within Monarch®. Create geofences with a simple circular border or with custom shapes. Select a location to see it on the map with the geofence and vehicles, so you can see who’s nearby.

How to find it on Android:

Tap the menu icon (three horizontal bars) in the top left, then tap “Locations.” Tap on the “+” icon and enter the location’s full address. Use the slider to adjust the size of the radius, or tap the “Custom shape” toggle to create a more precise geofence.

How to find it in iOS:

Tap the menu icon (three horizontal bars) in the bottom right corner of the main screen. Look for the “Locations” menu item and tap “Add new” to start creating the geofence. When you’re ready, click “Add” at the bottom of the next screen. Give your location a name and assign it to a group, then tap “Save.” Note: You can also add new locations while viewing all locations in a group. From the menu, tap “Locations,” then select the group. You’ll see a list of the locations in that group. Tap the “+” icon in the top right corner to start creating the geofence.

Quickly Find Nearby Vehicles

Unexpected stops can put you and your drivers in a tough situation. Of course, IntelliHub® can easily sort your vehicles by proximity to the new stop, but what about when you aren’t in the office? Now you can use Monarch® to quickly find drivers that are closest to a location by simply dropping a pin onto the map.

How to find it on Android:

Tap the “Map” icon at the top of the main screen. Tap an area on the map that you’d like to search near and select “Find Close” on the box that pops up. After a few seconds, you should see a list of vehicles at the bottom of your screen, sorted by distance.

Get a Closer Look With Google Street View

In addition to the map and satellite views, you can now get a closer look at any location with Google Street View. This view lets managers see exactly where their vehicles are, and what the buildings, landmarks, or roads really look like.

How to find it on Android:

Tap on the “map” icon in the top right corner of the main screen, then tap on a road to drop a pin. On the following prompt, tap “Street View.” Note: The “Street View” button will be greyed out if Google doesn’t support Street View at that specified location.
